OPTIONS Retail is an EPOS system for customer present sales channels, such as shops and warehouse outlets.


It is fully integrated with the OPTIONS Mail Order System for multi-sales channel direct marketing organisations.


Operational areas covered include:


  • Order taking
  • Collection of customer data
  • PAF
  • Style and product level selling
  • Multiple payment methods, including Chip & Pin, Cheque, Cash and Gift Vouchers; these can be combined on any given sale
  • Sales and credit card receipts
  • Place shop sales orders through OPTIONS Mail Order from the shop
  • Return and place a new order:
  • to the same, or different, shop from the original sale
  • to Mail Order from a shop sale
  • to a shop from a Mail Order sale
  • Stock enquiries to check stock availability in other shops and in Mail Order
  • Automatic generation of proposed shop replenishment orders for fulfilment from head office
  • Head office allocation of new and existing product lines based on shop sales forecasts
  • Exposure of in-transit stock between the sales outlets
  • Shop stock counting
  • Cash reconciliation
  • Sales performance reporting from head office
  • Shop user security

Data entry is by touch screens, barcode scanning and optional keyboard.


To ensure enterprise wide consistency in operational procedures, data structures and presentation of customer services, marketing, merchandising and financial policies, optionally variable by retail outlet, are maintained at the OPTIONS user’s head office.
